Model & Revenue

Platform Model & Revenue

Start with the questions that determine whether the model fits your game: share logic, payout timing, and revenue on free releases.

Engagement-based share

What makes IGP different from other platforms?

IGP focuses on connecting creative games with core Chinese players. Unlike a fixed buy-to-play model, your revenue share is driven by how deeply players genuinely engage with your game.

The system evaluates active playtime, engagement depth, likes and sharing behavior, plus your game's ability to attract new users. In practice, the more players care, the more your share can grow, so short but high-quality games are not penalized for being concise.

Quarterly payouts

What is the payment schedule and minimum payout threshold?

Payouts are processed quarterly through Bank Transfer or Stripe Connect. The minimum payout threshold is $100.

Historical payout records stay available in the developer dashboard for review and reconciliation.

Additional revenue channel

Can I still earn on IGP if my game is free on other stores?

Yes. Even if your game is already free on Steam or itch.io, you can still earn when players generate valid playtime and engagement on IGP.

IGP acts as an additional distribution channel that turns core fan participation into extra revenue.

Cost & Rights

Cost & Rights

This section removes the usual uncertainty around hidden fees, exclusivity, delisting, and asset ownership.

Zero upfront cost

What does it cost to list my game on IGP?

There is no upfront cost. IGP does not charge listing fees, monthly maintenance fees, hosting fees, or bandwidth fees.

We only make money when you do, through the revenue share.

No hidden charges

Are there hidden fees for marketing or updates?

No. IGP covers the costs tied to global distribution, so marketing, updates, and routine operational support do not become another subscription bill for developers.

Platform covers fees

Who pays for bank fees and chargeback penalties?

IGP covers bank fees and related processing costs. Payouts run through Stripe Connect and Bank Transfer for a transparent settlement process.

If a chargeback happens, the affected revenue is deducted, but the associated bank penalties and handling fees are still covered by IGP.

Non-exclusive listing

Do I need to publish exclusively on IGP?

No. IGP does not require exclusivity. You can keep selling or hosting your game on Steam, Epic, itch.io, or your own site at the same time.

IGP should be treated as an additional route to players and revenue, not a replacement for your existing channels.

You keep delisting control

Can I remove my game at any time?

Yes. You keep full control and can de-list your game with a 30-day notice period.

After de-listing, subscribers will no longer be able to access the game through IGP.

100% asset ownership

What rights does IGP have to my game assets?

You retain 100% ownership of your IP and assets.

By listing on IGP, you only grant a limited license for trailers, screenshots, and the game title to be used in platform marketing and promotional materials.

3

Integration

Technical & Integration

Use this section to judge how much engineering work is actually required, especially for engine support and update handling.

Support for custom stacks

Can I publish a game that was not built with a major engine?

Yes. IGP supports non-mainstream engines and can evaluate your project at no cost before integration starts.

If your setup is unusual, reach out to developer support and the technical team will help map the right integration path.

5 to 10 minutes

How complex is the technical integration, and how long does it take?

For Unity, Unreal, Godot, and GameMaker, IGP provides no-code plugins. A standard integration usually takes 5 to 10 minutes.

In most cases, you only need to add the script to the initial scene so DRM protection and playtime tracking can start working. Non-standard projects can still get direct technical help.

Updates apply immediately

How are game updates and patches handled?

For now, you can email the updated build to the platform team and the deployment will be handled for you. Once deployed, the update takes effect immediately.

The developer dashboard is planned for July 2026. After that launch, you will be able to upload new versions directly and replace old files without disrupting players.

4

Growth

Marketing & Growth

This part is about audience quality and the data you can actually use to improve retention, content planning, and launch strategy.

Core Chinese players

Who is the target audience, and what player data can I access?

IGP focuses on Chinese core players who actively look for new mechanics, value creative design, and pay for high-quality content.

Developers get access to anonymized dashboard data such as player profiles, playtime distribution, and regional insights to help improve the game and its release strategy.

5

Support & Safety

Support & Security

The final section covers response expectations and the safeguards that protect revenue from invalid activity.

Replies within 24 hours

How can I contact the team for support?

You can reach the platform through the general support mailbox or the developer support mailbox. Most inquiries receive a reply within 24 hours.

  • General support: contact@indiegp.cn
  • Developer support: developer@indiegp.cn
Layered protection

How do you prevent botting and playtime farming?

IGP uses multiple safeguards so only genuine play and engagement are counted toward revenue.

  • Identity verification tied to valid accounts.
  • Input telemetry that detects non-human behavior patterns.

Need Direct Support

Already moving a project forward?

If you are actively evaluating integration, patch delivery, or a commercial partnership, you do not need to wait until every question is perfectly packaged.

Final Step

Still need a more specific answer?

Use the docs to confirm implementation details, or submit your project directly if you are ready to start the onboarding conversation.
